Book Club
The Book Club meets once a month from September through May for lively discussions of books chosen by the group in advance. The meetings are held in members' homes on the second Thursday of the month, at 1:00 p.m., and all are welcome. The group reads both current books and classics, fiction and non-fiction, and each meeting is facilitated by a different member who volunteers to lead the discussion of the book chosen for that month. Epsilon Rho (Texas A&M) Liaisons
Epsilon Rho (Texas A&M) liaisons serve as key advisers and/or members of the house board to advise and support the actives of the chapter. In addition, the liaisons serve as a key communication link between Epsilon Rho (EP) and the alumnae association. The liaison role is to foster programming to bring the Houston Kappas closer to the Kappa activities at Texas A&M, and to create a strong bond between EP and Houston alumnae that will further a multigenerational sisterhood. Kappa Kafe
Kappa Kafe is "just lunch"--no agenda other than to connect with Houston Kappa sisters. This group meets several times a year at local restaurants for casual, Dutch-treat lunches, at 11:30 a.m. Kappa Kafe is a great way to meet and visit with Kappas of all ages in a relaxed setting. Kappa Mothers' Club
The Kappa Mothers' Club (organized in 1951) meets in October, February, and May. The Mother's Club and Alumnae Association co-host the Kappa Holiday Tea, which honors new members. Kappa Noche
Kappa Noche is for Kappas who prefer to meet in the evenings. This "no meeting" night group offers casual, relaxed, Dutch-treat drinks and dinner for all Kappas, from Night Owls on. Whether you work inside or outside the home, this group will appeal to fun-loving Kappas, especially those who aren't always available for day meetings. Kappa Travelers
Kappa Travelers take day trips closer together to cities in Texas and extended trips to places in the southern U.S. Spend time with your Kappa sisters and savor the magic of these historical cities. Travelers group dues are only $20 per year, which includes an invitation to a wine party, advance notice about the trips, and discounted trip prices. Night Owls
Kappa Night Owls is a great opportunity to make new friends, network, and have fun with young, professional women in the Houston area. Play Date in the Park
Play Date in the Park is the perfect way to be with your Kappa sisters while the kids enjoy playgrounds around the Houston area. It is a great way to meet other Kappa moms, their children, and stay connected. Please don't forget to bring water, snacks, sunscreen, or anything else you or your child might need. Stitchers
The Stitchers create special needlepoint works to be sold at the biennial Holiday Luncheon. All proceeds go to support the Houston Charitable Foundation. Whether you are experienced or learning to needlepoint for the first time, this is the perfect way to spend mornings with your Kappa sisters.
